EDARP runs a robust HIV testing and counseling services in its fourteen facilities spread across six sub counties in Nairobi in collaboration with Ministry of Health at both National and county level.
HIV Testing Services is headed by the HTS program manager. It is domiciled in the clinical department headed by the Clinical Director.
As a faith based organization We provide holistic and client centered HIV Testing and Counseling services to every person who needs to know their HIV status and to access HIV care and treatment in Christ like manner and in compliance with the five basic principles of HIV testing care and treatment; Counseling, consent, confidentiality, correct results and Connection to prevention and treatment services.
We endeavor to contribute towards the achievement of HIV epidemic control, realize global goal of eliminating new HIV transmission by the year 2030. To achieve this every person accessing HIV Testing and counseling services is treated as an individual with unique needs. Our counselors are committed to walk with every client through prevention, care and treatment journey. They are professionally equipped to help our clients address their concerns and unanswered questions on HIV.
In addition to testing services provided within our health facilities, we also provide our clients who need to know their HIV status in the privacy of their home with assisted HIV self-testing, assisted HIV disclosure and referral to required health care and psychosocial services.
To reach many people in the community with HIV testing service, we continue to engage and train Health care service providers within our care and treatment catchment areas. We recognize the critical role played by Community health workers (CHWs) in care and treatment so we continue to work with them in community sensitization and mobilization to create demand for HIV testing services.
