EDARP laboratory services are offered free of charge for all clients it provides care and treatment to. The program has six laboratories which are strategically located within EDARP’s vast catchment area of Eastland Nairobi to ensure efficient service delivery for its clients. The laboratories are located in; Eastleigh, Kariobangi, Huruma, Dandora, Komarock and Donholm. Tests offered to clients are in line with Ministry Of Health guidelines for treatment management of clients on ART and TB treatment. All EDARP laboratories are registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board (KMLTTB) of Kenya. The laboratories conform to an established quality management system which meets requirements of the international standard ISO15189.
In November 2020, the laboratory quality management system was assessed by Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS), and the laboratories were found in compliance with the accreditation requirements set under ISO15189:2012. For more details about the laboratory accreditation scope visit https://kenas.go.ke/cabs/medical-laboratories and check Eastern Deanery Aids Relief Program (EDARP) – KENAS/ACCR/ML/28. The success of the laboratory has been attributed to management support and great personnel teamwork across all departments within the program.
