Tuberculosis is a potentially serious bacterial infection that mainly affects the lungs but can affect any other body part or organ. TB is one of the top 10 causes of death and the leading cause from a single infectious agent (above HIV/AIDS).

EDARP has been providing TB diagnosis and treatment for the last 28 years, currently EDARP provides TB screening and diagnosis using advanced DNA testing known as gene Xpert and any one diagnosed with TB disease is provided with TB treatment free of charge.

EDARP facilities provide TB preventive therapy (TPT) to reduce risk of TB disease among patients eligible including people living with HIV and children aged 5 years and below who are contacts of adults that have been newly diagnosed with TB.
